Rotary International is the world's oldest volunteer service organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Phoenix West Rotary Club members are local business leaders, professionals and retirees who meet weekly and work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, and promote peace under the motto "Service Above Self." Rotary's non-religious, non-governmental affiliation, enable it to service mankind where other organizations cannot. For example, Rotary's Polio Plus program has eradicated over 99% of polio in the world by contributing funds and countless volunteer hours to immunize more than 2 billion children in all corners of the world; areas where other humanitarian groups would not be allowed.
